Babar Luck and the Blindwatchmakers are coming!!!

It is that time. We have a new release. Its a full band ting. Recorded in oz a few months back in time. Again about time. This album features songs worked and reworked smashing scintillating. will be available 4th dec 2020 exclusively via https://babarluck.bandcamp.com/

This slog/blog wil focus on those songs that album. That album has TJ Divers playing Drums, guitars, keyboards vocals mixing recording and mastering. I did guitar and vocals. TJ did more then half i would say… James Harris played electric fretless bass. TJ and James had played in various incarnations before. So they were also comfortable with each other.

That history. + me relevant tangents. The songs and why and how they are on the amazing new 6 track album about 32 minutes in length. A essential addition to the Luck catalogue. 2020

Track 1/For all the children – is a “Evergreen Luck Classic ” in the Luck song book it’s a song very close to me i have recorded it twice i think maybe even more over the last two decades. This time round sharp snappy and “in there” it talks about second and third generation migrants- talks about children raised in “care homes’ and “broken homes” and “where drugs replaced hugs and money became God” its from the perspective of the adult -talking to the child – the adult is asking the child for forgiveness. We know many feel that song and many are still unable to make peace with their past their upbringing and what actually happened. Healing comes when truth is spoken expressed and embraced.

Below is a picture of 4 generations of music lovers- the wisest chap is the reason me and TJ hooked up. Correction -i have been told it was around 99/ we met for the first time – Memory is subjective at times. It was a show many moons ago on me first solo tour around 2004(UK) i think of me duo acoustic act called LUCK/FALK chk link for that sound https://babarluck.bandcamp.com/album/luck-falk – And it was also where me “step father” had attended the show the original mr. Luck . I was also talking to TJ’s dad we talked about Hendrix The Faces(steve marriot) Buddy Guy Freddie King Albert King BB King Robert Johnson . Who would believe we would meet again in oz (20ish???)years or so later. Strange world. Where music is the key. In my life i have truly had some amazing coincidences.

2/ One world is the next song on that album which is another “Evergreen Luck Classic” I have recorded that track with the UK band Random Hand around 2005 they sang 4 part harmonies as a music man i recall their tender gentle musical ways. I actually have the original demo on tape. How that occurred Northern Jim who was managing them bk in the way, asked me come up to Bradford record with his”boys”. As it is with those who genuinely care for talent and young creativity Jim genuinely cared and tried his best for the group in their early days. They went on to variant and divergent paths. After a hiatus they have reformed. They stil have 2 original members Jo & Rob & have recorded some new tracks. That’s good for them and the legion of their hardcore fans. As i tell all that care to listen music is magic. How we use it and what purpose is our choice. Music can heal or hurt. We played last year supporting them with our electric rock band East End Trinity chk link https://babarluck.bandcamp.com/album/dry in Bristol the Exchange. A shout out to Fishlock promotions who gets what its “about”he sorted that show. Lovely dubbly it was. This is another song that talks about race culture migrants with crucial opening words ” I cant change my skin or where i am from” non truer word say. It is a poptimistic song. Its crucial to not let fear bullies and “leaders” stop/block/hinder us from making a better world for all the children.

ABOVE IS A PICTURE OF TJ DIVERS “YOU NEED HANDS” FOR ALL THOSE THAT GIVE ME A HELPING HAND

3/Pass it on – is a fresher Luck song it was recorded one time before this time by the one off release ,The Babar Luck experience “voices” https://babarluck.bandcamp.com/album/the-babar-luck-experience-voices which is album of hidden depth. The recording this time i was able to flow as we had more time and the riff and structure is correct. I chose that track it has rock sensibility and hiphope crossover which is again one of me fortes . This talks about the land and peoples of oz and what “timeliness”. I am also in that song talking about “underground” and those of us that make that jump into the fire. For the fire is the heart and we must heal the heart. Hypocrisy is not a friend it is our enemy. The moral imperative is peaceful conclusions in that there must be justice and resolutions. Its a banging rocking version of that track that gives me tingles. That’s affirmation enough for me.

Track 4/ Respect mother earth. Never before recorded released(have tried…) I have it already recorded it again for TBLWCFB- That be out when it ready as well. We musically move into reggae rock territory on this track. Was very happy with mix and what magic was weaved by the Blindwatchmakers. The love of nature and respect for nature and how we farm and cultivate and feed humanity. Is something that needs to work with mother earth rather then against it. Leaders and those that control our lives “for their short term profit they have given pp on the next generations.”

Like most conscious humans who are not “leaders of industry” or are those that “call the shots” all we can do is raise awareness get involved locally and globally and most importantly check our personal “footprint” and what legacy we leave behind. Also crucial how we teach our children about nature. Not because there is a crisis. But it the correct thing to do. Always was and always wil be. As the original Luck who marched against wars and for Green peace in the 60’s and dare i say had the same dreams and ideologies. As do all roots peoples since time do and have.

Track 5/ Slaves be free – is the next track on that album. The above picture is wonderful soul who is no longer with us on this earth. He and i struck up many conversations about Oz and what it was. How it could be. We with our world view hats tried to put the world to rights. He invited me to play on his radio show. The best times i recall with him was him laughing and questioning my words and lyrics and when tears came it was a healing. The song deals with self control and self respect and believing one day all the slaves be free. No one is free till we are all free. Til there is peace there cant be peace. The music on that track is spellbinding. Dubb reggae space core. the original track appears on https://babarluck.bandcamp.com/album/the-path-of-human-civil-lie-zation

Love that above picture 3 chaps with very different “wives” and “girlfriends- its our winning smiles.

Track 6/ White Skin Against Mine is the final track. Never recorded with a full band. This is a love song about me first girlfriend and all the racism we faced from all sides. Not much has changed sadly. We as a human race are very tribal and prejudice. The rise of fascism and right wing ideologies are never too far away. The world is harsh and challenging when one marries outside race and culture. The words used by our elders still ring true. They in their reality wanted to protect us from prejudice. To embrace love talk about love and live love is truth. The world does get more diverse. More shades of hue. 3 or four cultures exist in many households. That’s a good thing. If all those cultures are recognised equally. The mixing. It is something as i say one cant stop. To love who we wish to love without fear or ridicule is essential in all worlds. Love that song still makes me smile. Continue to love and cherish each other regardless of faith culture and background.

Above is me bro Bupinder a wonderful singer and writer of songs. Mainly modern/traditional Desi songs. We spent a great deal of time together in Oz. WE also recorded a few tracks at TJ Divers studio. Yes i will air them as well some day soon. I am writeing this to remind TJ and me self.

Above is a picture i love he was me neighbour. His name Bundambah Yah,he did teach me about the land and his peoples. Also a good rapper and top Didgh player. He also knew Fred Leone that’s also another story.

So many wonderful peoples. My real blood is still there. In a way Babar luck and the Blindwatchmakers is a answer to many things. And in this flux of life. We have to answer to ourselves first and last. So thank you dear reader for reading all of this. something that will be audible and downloadable a bit of background for you and those songs. Over lands and overseas indeed. keep head up. till next time

Tangents???Ah…..The picture above is Benoit just love that picture -We are stil in touch. That’s me French connection. Another oz bro.
