The latest album is about a fictional character called John Brute. He is a homage to the sheezas and Geezas the “aunties” and the “uncles” that raised me. They never voted or called the police. They did not believe in the system or society. They made their own rules and their own paradigms. The first track from the album is called “Hot shotta” it narrates the characters release from prison. After serving “time” for selling illegal drugs and extreme violence as those who are aware of that life will tell you “Anything can happen”. It is not a moral tale but there is a happy ending.

When young I always idolised the suffering. I was given a firm retort to that and told “you want be a winner or you want be a looser”. Whenever I in me moral search found causes to defend I was ridiculed and told “dont be a mug son”. (mug a colloquial term for a fool) When later in me life I realised how the monetised status of those who I admired and loved was maintained it all became very clear. They totally dominated all those around them and did nothing for nothing. That’s why to ridicule them and to make fun of them in a loving way we have a song called “winners”. In a way those who raised me are all winners.

That is a wonderful hound. The same breed as the sheeza and Dr friend of ours hound. We stayed at a dear friend of the Dr after our last shows which was magical in magical deep Devon. On the coast. Below is the picture of her hound and a man who loves her. Incidentally I was reciting me “sesame street ” politics to that animal and the reaction is akin to what I normally get. Possibly that hound knows the “aunties” and “uncles” that raised me. The world is not for the nice and the good and defo not for the poor. So dont be poor and dont be good and dont be nice. Hmmmm…….
The above is a very dear musical friend. we have done some amazing music together. Fab the foot. He is from Italy originally teaches and plays shows and it is also good to have him as a friend. Not that me championing any artist will assist that artist. I simply like me aunties and uncles try and live my life my way. Naturally abiding by the societies guidelines and laws. I simply dont have that entrepreneurial skills or simply the desire for that level of power and control. I do love making music and there are many heartfelt gentle moments and ballads on the album John Brute is also a romantic. A song for those modern lovers
